Have you ever made a vision board? Many people use the collage method of gluing or pining pictures all over the board in no order. But I like to use this “intention” grid that’s used in BTB Feng Shui.
A vision board is a wonderful project for the beginning of the year when you’re setting your intentions/goals for the year. But you can create one any time. Designers use vision or "mood" boards to plan their projects. It’s a fun project for friends and family, and is a great team-building activity for businesses. You can either glue ribbon or use a marker to define the segments. Gather some magazines and cut out symbols, pictures, and words that express your goals/vision. I prefer a cork board so I can keep it updated throughout the year. A magnetic white board can also provide flexibility since you can write on it and attach things with tape or magnets. Here are the segments and how they translate for personal or business vision boards:
Top row:
- Abundance/wealth/prosperity; for business: Business: Abundance of business, clients, cash flow, profits)
- Fame/reputation/recognition (how you share your light in the world); for business: Reputation, awards, public relations, brand recognition
- Love/marriage/relationships; for business: Relationships (partners, suppliers, contractors, vendors)
Middle row:
- Family/community; for business:: Teamwork, growth, business structure, leadership
- Health/well being; for business: health of the business, healthy & nurturing work space
- Creativity/children/fertility/new beginnings; for business: Creativity, productivity, marketing, problem solving, innovation
Bottom row:
- Knowledge/growth/wisdom; for business: Skill-building, training & development, resources for growth
- Career/life path; for business: Business mission/objectives
- Travel & helpful people; for business: Networking, client/customer loyalty, legal protection, ability to take the business to new places
