June 6 - July 6 is the month of the Yang Fire Horse/Bing Wu 丙午. In the Chinese calendar, the Horse month is the peak of Summer. The element of Summer is Fire and the main element of the Horse is Yin Fire, with a hidden element of Yin Earth. With the Stem element of Yang Fire, there’s a lot of Fire energy this month. Fire is lively and burns brightly. Yang Fire is intense, and Yin Fire is like a candle. With all of this fiery energy, we are most likely to see a significant amount of “fired up” activity. Fire is also indicative of joy and celebrations, as well as expansive and rising energy. While it’s “illuminating” it can also be “burnout.” Try to pace your energy levels this month and don’t let the excitement of what’s going on around you overwhelm you. Fire energy can also provide a source of illumination spiritually. So, when you find yourself overwhelmed by a frantic world around you, retreat to the spiritual support that the Yin Fire element can provide…like a candle in the darkness.
The Fire Horse may be a little stubborn and showy but it is intelligent and can think quickly on its feet. It may pivot quickly and is generally liked, as an intelligent and astute leader. In the Chinese tradition, the Horse is highly revered, basically because it played such an important part in their daily lives in ancient times. Movement and change are predominant characteristics, as are hard-working and emotional. There’s rarely a gray zone with the Horse…so while there’s every opportunity for intelligent leadership, we may also see more evidence of divisiveness this month. However, a Horse month in a Tiger year are 2 of the Horse-Tiger-Dog trine. These animals are considered compatible, so hopefully, that divisiveness will be tempered by this congenial energy.
