Gong xi fa cai! Happy New Year! The Tiger year begins on Feb 4 and the month of the Tiger is from Feb 4 to Mar 4. Yes, we begin 2022 with a Fu Yin month, which means the Year and the Month Pillars are exactly the same! So, guess what…February will be a premiere of 2022! Aren’t we excited! And perhaps a little apprehensive?
The Heavenly Stem of this month and year is Yang Water, and the Earthly Branch is, of course, Tiger. Tiger is a yang wood element and the fullest expression of Spring. When you think of Spring doesn’t the chaos and beauty of “new growth” come to mind? The Tiger is both revered and feared in Chinese culture. It is revered as the “king” of the animal kingdom and therefore the zodiac. It is also feared for its power and speed when it’s on the hunt. It’s a dichotomy that tends to rule Tiger years. With water supporting the wood of the Tiger, we can expect to see all aspects of the Tiger in 3D.
The Chinese calendar has a 60-year cycle and the last time the Yang Water Tiger appeared was in 1962. For those of you who weren’t around/too young to remember that year, it was the year the Oral Polio Vaccine was invented; the Cuban Missile Crisis & The Bay of Pigs saw the US & Russia play a game of Chicken with a Nuclear Holocaust at the center of it; the first artificial satellites and manned spacecraft were launched by Russia and the US; the space needle in Seattle was completed; and in the US there was rioting at the University of Mississippi when James Meredith, a black man, attempted to enroll.
There is a missing element this year (and in Feb): Metal. This imbalance can create a fluctuating marketplace. Since it’s normal for the markets to self-adjust (buying back or selling out stocks is part of normal business planning), while it’s an inconvenience to many, it will pass. Your focus should be on what you are doing this month and this year to make use of the energy of the Water Tiger. Unlike the Ox year, this year has a lot of quick energy so you’ll need to stay on top of your game and ready to make quick decisions. This will call for being prepared and having a contingency plan. Stay focused and do your best to become the best version of yourself, because that’s what we need…people who are living to their fullest potential.
BAZI FOR THE MONTH AND YEAR OF THE YANG WATER TIGER:
The Tiger is your Clash Year and Month if you have Yang Fire (year ending in 6) or the Monkey in one of your BaZi Pillars. This is a time of transformation and transformation is always uncomfortable.
The Tiger is your Nobleman Year and Month if you have Yin Metal in one of your BaZi Pillars. There will be people around you to help you with whatever support you need…just look for them and don’t be afraid to ask.
The Traveling/Sky Horse Star appears for you in the month and year of the Tiger if you have Monkey, Rat, or Dragon in your BaZi Pillars. This is a time of either physical travel or personal growth.
If you have Snake or Monkey in your BaZi Pillars this would form a 2/3 Fire Penalty. If you have both you would have a full 3 Penalty this month and year. This penalty affects relationships and health, so if you have this penalty, you need to be mindful of how you treat or work with others, and take care of your health.
